Backlog Blitz: Genesis, Week Four, "Oh Captain, My Captain..."

It's been a pretty good week. Not great--there are still a lot of problems in my world--but things are going well. So that means I have more time to play old games. Here are some. Only a couple are good. Unfortunately.

Cadash

It's a generic side-scrolling fantasy RPG with your standard clunky controls, bland music, and unimaginative monsters. Plus infinitely-spawning enemies.  Yay. What fun.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers

Wow. This is... It's like a really terrible version of Mega Man with a Captain Planet theme, I guess?

Castlevania: Bloodlines

Is it a Castlevania game? Is it a Castlevania game that isn't Simon's Quest, Lord of Shadow, or the N64 ones? Then it's bloody good.

Clayfighter

Man, this game is so weird and so good. One of the few fighting games I love. Everything about it is just so...funny?

Captain America and the Avengers

Well, first of all, this is the weakest Avengers lineup in the history of the Avengers. Also, it's quite clear that the dialogue and voiceovers were done by non-English speakers. Oh, and the game is pretty trash. 1/10 would not recommend. 2/10 with rice.

Contra: Hard Corps

Oh my gosh. This is by far one of the best Contra games ever. Seriously. It's fast-paced, slightly ridiculous, action-packed, and controls amazingly. The music and graphics are good, the gameplay is good... Wow.
