Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Eighteen, "Tactical Ogre Clinging"

It's the end of an era. No, really. I've finished playing Super Nintendo games. I have no more ROMs to play. My emulator can rest in peace now. What's next? A short, one or two week hiatus. Then on to the system that does what Nintendon't. SEGAAAAAAAAA~ But for now, let's look at some more old games.

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Seventeen, "

I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point. About fifteen games left to play, some of which will inevitably not be worth even reviewing. So probably two-to-three weeks left of the SNES Backlog Blitz. Then it's on to the Sega Genesis. Why did I ever think this was a good idea? Make it stop. Make it stooooooop.

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Sixteen, "Secret of the Street-Fighting Samurai Star"

Nope. Not a good batch of games this week. Not at all. At least not on the Super Nintendo front. Ask me about DarkMaus instead! That's a good (if overly-hard) top-down action RPG that is suspiciously similar to Dark Souls. Hmmmm...

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Fifteen, "Bad Aircraft, Good Spacecraft."

I quit eating candy recently. It's...not going smoothly. I really really really want candy right now. Do you have candy, mister? Seriously, though. Send me Skittles. I need them. In the mean time, let's talk about old games, mmkay?

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Fourteen, "Ninja Ogres Are Out of This World"

Only three games this week because I've been playing Dark Souls II again. 2 bosses a night, every night. Fear me and my ax!

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Thirteen, "Mechs and Kombat and Vikings, Oh Myyyyyy..."

It was a long week. Now it's time to stay inside and stay warm as the temperatures drop below zero and keep dropping. Thank goodness for blankets and snacks and internet. Especially snacks and internet...

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Twelve, "Indiana Was the Pink Fluffball's Name..."

I never have been good at titles for these blogs... Are there classes on writing good titles? Is that a thing? It should be a thing. I would attend. Anyway. It has...it has been a long week. I say that every week. But this week... I'm barely awake right now and it's post-noon. I've been up for five hours. The only thing that's keeping me awake is the promise of the delicious-smelling Jamaican chicken soup on the stove... Anyway. Old games. Let's talk about them.

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Eleven, "Jurassic MegaCity One"

I'm baaaaaack suckers! Going to be running off backlogs for a while until I get emulators up and running on my desktop PC, but things are looking brighter for Backlog Blitz. Anyway, it's 11:30, I'm eating ramen, and there's licorice. Let's hit it!

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Ten, "I Should Start Playing Old Games Again..."

Ugh. I'm freaking tired as freak. Stayed up until 2AM playing D&D with some dudes. It was pretty dang fun. Investigated a serious of mysterious deaths, accidentally killed a mayor, spent four hours frantically covering it up and not investigating the deaths, botched the actual investigation and unleashed an all-consuming demon, and then nearly screwed up banishing the bloody thing. It was great. Anyway, old games.

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Nine, "Finally, It's Time to Fight the FlashBacks in F-Zero Gravity!"

This was supposed to be posted yesterday, but something came up at the last minute. I wish I could say it was a hot date. It wasn't. Alas. Oh well. Sadness. Despair. Etc. Etc. Etc. Anyways, all I have to say is F yous all.

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Eight, "These Ones Are Out of Order"

Long story short, I got my hands on some other ROMs that looked interesting, so I'm talking about them today, despite them not following alphabetically from the previous week. Deal with it, suckaaaaas!

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Seven, "Beauty is in the Eye..."

So last night and this morning were spent at work switching to a different IP phone system. That was fun. I can't feel my fingers. Let's eat trail mix and talk about old games while I try to forget that on Monday, everyone will hate the new system as much as the old one.

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Six, "The Death of a Good Series"

I just fried up some delicious potatoes, and earlier I set up a Raspberry Pi to emulate old games, so I'm in a good mood to talk about retro gaming. Let's get to it!

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Five, "Chrono Triggered"

Ohhhh yeaaaaaah. It's time to talk about old games again. It's a good day for that. I just finished some delicious leftover pizza from a local pizza place called Pizza Luce. It was good. Very good. You should envy me.

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Four, "There's a Pun to Be Made About This Bad Captain America Game"

But I just can't quite get it to work... Anyway, let's talk about video games. That's always fun. And by fun, I mean it wildly swings between fun and painful. Often painful. Usually painful.

I should probably have gone to my college's homecoming--my first one as an alum!--but I'm lazy and didn't feel like leaving my apartment. Also it's like an hour and a half drive each way and I'm going down there next week. So yeah. I don't know why I'm telling you this, all eight of you faithful readers.

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Three, "BADman and other Games."

Oh, hello again. Yes, I still play old video games and whine about them for your amusement. Monsters. Let's get on with it, shall we?

(Oh, yes. First week of work at my new job is over. I think it went quite well. Got introduced to the company and my immediate coworkers, they seem like cool people to work with. The duties are somewhere between what I was doing, and what I'd like to be doing in 5 years, which is great. Some added responsibility, but still interaction with people. I know just enough from previous tech stuff that I can figure things out, but also learn a ton. And overall, I'm excited! And also again: If you're in the Minneapolis area or passing through, holler at me. I'm probably not doing anything.)

Backlog Blitz: SNES, Week Two, "Good Games Are Alien to This Franchise."

Another weekend, another bunch of old games to talk about. It's been a busy week, what with all the students moving back onto campus, and professors scrambling to fix issues that they should have gotten fixed months ago (at least they're nice about it), and parents trying to get access to information that we legally can't give them, and all that jazz. So I'm falling a bit behind on writing. That and the fact that I'm moving into my apartment next weekend.
