I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point. About fifteen games left to play, some of which will inevitably not be worth even reviewing. So probably two-to-three weeks left of the SNES Backlog Blitz. Then it's on to the Sega Genesis. Why did I ever think this was a good idea? Make it stop. Make it stooooooop.
Sunset Riders
So this is cowboy Contra, I guess? It’s pretty good… Music
sucks, and the graphics are a bit too colorful for my tastes, but the controls
and combat are quite polished. I mean, literally, it feels like cowboy Contra.
That’s not a bad thing at all.
Super Castlevania 4
I feel like I reviewed this already… No, that’s Castlevania
Dracula X. Seriously, why they messed with the naming convention is beyond me.
Anyway. This is pretty good. Graphics are solid, if not the best of a NES/SNES
Castlevania game. Music is good. Controls are all standard Castlevania…
Overall, I can’t complain.
Super Earth Defense Force
Well, I mean… The dual-mode weapons are cool. But enemies
come in at angles you can’t shoot unless you have one specific weapon loadout.
Music is okayish. Graphics are alright. It’s not as good as some sidescrolling
SHMUPS, basically.
Terminator
The unskippable cutscene should have been a pretty good sign
that this game would be awful. And it is. Seriously. This game is
NES-shovelware levels of garbage. Graphics are dark and muddy, sound is
atrocious, controls and combat severely lacking.
